have been shopping today. hehehehhe. ohhh lovely shopping. now I will have to starve for the next 2 weeks. looovely jewellry and bag and some other ditt and datt. I fell in love with a Sydney designer called melissa harris http://www.melissaharrisjewellery.com/ and I bought three small rings from her, stack rings. lovely. just because I am on a 3 weeks holiday AND will work part time for the rest of this year -- thought I had room to treat myself to something extra. NOT. but I don't regret it. AT ALL!.
had lunch at this hemisphere's best sushi place, jackie's cafe in paddington. they don't have a website what I can see anyway, but google the name and you will find location. opposite to melissa harris' shop to. very convenient. star spotted there too. met therese alshammar -- swedish swimming star-- there. we were both bending over the magazine/newspaper rack and I commented to her in swedish that the latest vanity fair had great articles. she looked slighly shocked, so I felt stupid and snuck away and didn't look at her anymore. she looked great in her horsey kind of way and very rock and roll with her black hair http://www.picsearch.com/pictures/athletes,%20female/classic%20sports/swimming/therese%20alshammar.html. AND she was accompanied by a just gorgeous scandi fellow. that kind of man that you think that perhaps Sweden isn't such a bad idea after all. tall, extremely big (swimmer too, no doubt) broad cheekbones with a very cute boyish smile. to die for. lucky her.
at times like this I get a bit sweden proud. also when the king (knugen) has his official speeches and always starts with "dear swedes -- home and abroad", which I think is sort of nice of him, to remember us who have left the mother planet. well done him.
now I am off to pick up my adjusted gorgeous rings and my laundry to get ready for my NZ adventure.
have a lovely saturday europe.

a couple of important reflections
1. time passes silly quickly when on the webbie thingie. I always think it is more than enough with 30 min worth of credit and I end up always staying an hour!
2. people's time check in sydney is rather poor. everything ends up being 20 min; taxi rides from airport (40 min), bustrip to Bondi (40 min), time to walk to the harbour from Central Station (35 min). it's probably because they are such free agents and loose and hippyish and non-worried here. not sure me likes it -- time fascism is good too. I will from now on always double all estimations.
3. I like the autumn here. even if Bondi resembles Hastings (a little bit) in July, it's lovely and dramatic with the high waves and the gray skies. it gets a bit less tanned and a bit more... interesting. yeps, this will be a reflection of my ingmar bergman infested swedish melancholy soul that pops up every now and then. am generally a big autumn fan too, wherever in the world.
4. I need a wee, and "have less than 5 min of credits remaining" apparently.
hasta la vista.

Jet laggedy lag
good morning. it's 10.44 and moi has already been up since 7, had breakkie, done yoga at icebergs and been on the webbie for 30 min. excellent. I need sleep badly. it's getting to my nerves now. I am dead tired in the evenings and last night I died in bed around 8 and tried hard to get up and out to see another friend of a friend, but it was impossible to move a limb. regained consciousness around 11 but then it was too late to go out! very disappointed and claustrophic in my super designed but match box sized hotel room with no window so had slight anxiety attack and had to be egotistical and needy and call my lovely friends. which worked very well and I calmed down and fell a sleep around 1. woke up again at 0630 though, but thought whattheheck, no point in pretend sleeping. so I went to yoga. which was excellent, I feel great now!
a bit bored of being alone now (especially when I am jetlagged and in low energy), plus my schedule in Sydney is rather loose. will be better once I get to NZ with my heavy agenda of activities. it is a bit wierd to travel alone though. no doubt carachter building and Roller Coaster -- many thanks for comment (invitations to wedding being processed ;-)) -- good point in enjoying complete selfishness, who know what the future has in store.
if anyone was wondering WHO is the lucky one for my Sydney wedding --it' sorted. no worries. started dating a crazy man before I left. on our third date he proposed FOUR times, no less. as long as I bring back some maouri artifact he says he will keep to his promise and is ok with the Opera House setting. (nb. this is IRONY -- but he did propose four times that night, and claims he at least remembers 3 of them, hehe).
now I am off to perhaps a run on the beach here in bondi before heading back to hotel for a fresh up, change of rooms (have got a bigger one with window now. pheww) and a lovely sushi lunch in paddington. then an exhibition in the harbour and a stroll in Glebe. keeping busy.
cheerios, next time you hear from me, I may be in NZ!!

And we had fun fun fun in the sun sun sun
today sydney has given us excellent weather. after a bit of grim drizzle yesterday (which was entirely cosy and all good), today has been blue skies, 27 degrees and a light breeze. me has been at ICEBERGS all day which is an outdoor swimmingpool/gym at the south side of bondi. excellent.
I started the day very early (struggled to sleep at all after 5am) with a superb breakfast of home made granola and yogurt, fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice. found this excellent little cafe around the corner from my hotel, typically sydneyish, with very healthy and fresh food. very cutely overlooking the central parts of the town as well as the slopes down towards paddington (pretty and expensive part of sydney consisting of made up victorian terraced houses). I then caught the bus to north bondi and had a lovely ride through the area woollahra. the driver was a woman of my age and we had a great chat about bondi, sydney and the area. very nice. then I had a session of yoga at icebergs, which went ok. apart from the fact that I had yoga in a bikini. not entirely flattering. I did put on a pair of shorts to hide the worst catastrohphe, but it still was a bit wierd. continuing tomorrow morning though, just for the heck of it.
after this I had lunch with a friend of a friend who is just lovely and lives in one of the eastern suburbs too. we had a great chat about most things and then I went back to icebergs for a snooze and some swimming. all in all a very good day, I will feel the yoga and swimming in my limbs, for sure. check out icebergs at : http://www.icebergs.com.au/. it's a saltwater swimmingpool that is constantly over washed by the sea. amazing place.
now I am not really sure what to do. I probably just go down to the great restaurant North Bondi and have a glass of chilled wine. yes, that sounds like a great idea. easy to make plans with myself actually, nothing to compromise about. good one. otherwise a teeny bit feeling of loneliness today. I think it's a "friday effect" -- would be nice to go out with some friends to eat tonight. but whattheheck - I will eat something nice and go to bed. am hysterically tired actually.
I was meant to go to bed early last night but ended up at the Opera House! Fancy eh? I had a long stroll that ended up at the Opera Bar where I had an afterwork drink with my imaginary colleagues and just enjoyed a spectacular sunset in the half sunny, half raining evening. it was gorgeous. then I decided to check out the Opera House and ended up at the Ballet! Excellent performance of the Australian Ballet Company. They did a perfomance of three snippets of classics. http://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/whatson/firebirdandotherlegends.aspx. the sydney audience were dressed to their nines and the performance was SO GOOD. unfortunaly I struggled with keeping awake so I had to pinch myself all the time. it was fabulous though, and the building is to DIE FOR. getting married there, just so you know. you will be invited provided you send comments to my blog. thanksing you.
have to be off now. have a great FRIDAY in europeland.

Spaning
Is it just me, the fall-season or has there been a very big style change in Sydney since I was here last? The place is just so ROCK AND ROLL. Everywhere I look are people looking like Pete D or Angyess Dwynn (spelling is wrong, I know, the model I wrote about last year).
In the mood for love
hoohoooo, back in sydney now. how I just love this town. strange, but it feels a bit like coming home? bizarro. arrived here this morning and went straight to a 4 hours spa session including full body massage, facial and pedicure and manicure. my therapist was FRENCH. ended up with me speaking to her in French as her English was apalling. after this I went to the very quaint and quirky French cafe next door. same story there. well, good thing I am such a language virutose that I can communicate where ever in whatever tongue. I am so good. And modest.
checked in at the Kirketon which is a quirky and trendy boutique hotel in cool darlinghurst. I like it but again with these kind of hotels -- the quality is always at expense of design. my room is tiny with a non-existent window facing a wall. and the tiles in the bathroom don't look fresh. but it doesn't matter. the bed is gorgeous and the design is good, and it's not expensive AND the location is FABBBB.
have been for a walk now. feel perfectly ok given lack of sleep and jetlag. have so far avoided plunging into the lovely local wines, keeping in mind Miss Prada's and my start last time; a boozy seafood lunch with ended up with moi on the bathroom floor. am exploring a bit but have decided to end up in the harbour, as a good ol' tourist sipping some chilled white in the sunset.
tomorrow early start for YOGA at Icebergs at Bondi. As Sydney as it gets ;-)
In the mood for love? Well I love this city, fact. Something about this place that makes want to live here forever and have a colonial dream flat in paddington, whizzling around in linen clothes looking artisan and occasionally popping down to an elegant and quirky bondi restaurant after a refreshing couple of hours of outdoor yoga. And write my life story.
yeah.
speak soon.

Focus on Crocus!
I'm off now! CRAZZZZY. At Heathrow getting ready to board soon. Very mad. I feel slightly manic, but that is all good -- all in line with my sleeping strategies. I discussed this with the man working at Boots too. He just tried very professionally sell some Nytol to me, but I had to stay for 10 minutes discussing how to best sleep when flying far and also a bit generally about insomnia. He desperately tried to server the customers behind me in the queue, but I persistedly stayed on. Also chatted with people in the queue -- a woman and her daughter who also were a bit stressed about the enormous waiting for bag drop. Excellent chat possibility. Had a quick chat with a woman in the loo too. She and her 3 months old baby are on my flight. I kept her a bit at lenght though, she was very nice, but am not that enthusiastic about having a screaming baby next to me all trip. Beggers can obviously be choosers.
Well, a bit of stage fever is never bad. Although I did question myself heavily on the train here. Really couldn't see why I came up with the alone travelling idea.
hohooo, see you in sydney!
